Volunteering in Queer Spaces
Before the closure of the First City Pride Centers Bull Street Branch I was one of the volunteer coordinators for two of its regular events.
Game Night: Every Sunday Evening 15 queer people and allies would gather to play board games, run tabletop sessions, and create everlasting bonds. To this day the group lives on in the local game shop. I couldn't be prouder of everything we accomplished.
Movie Night: For everyone who couldn't meet every week we had movie night every other week. Twenty plus people would suggest and vote on a movie of their choice. It was an excellent way to connect the queer youth with the elders in our space.
